Get Your Priorities Straight!
Get Your Priorities Straight!
Have we ever heard someone say this?
It is a thought-provoking statement. It is very seldom that someone uses this phrase with us, "get your priorities straight”, if we are making good decisions.
But when we don't think about our priorities, we can make decisions on a whim or a fancy. Even more dangerous, we become puppets living out the priorities someone else has set for us. Then we begin to becomemindless in all of our decisions. We may even start to become more reckless in our decision-making.
The truth of the matter is "all the decisions we make are founded on our priorities-which we may or may not have." What I mean by this is that our actions reflect our priorities. "Good" decisions reflect strong priorities. "Not good" decisions reflect poor priorities or no priorities.
Once we set our priorities based on what is important to us, those priorities will begin to empower us to make decisions that align with our priorities. - Debra -
Priorities plant us on solid ground. They set our minds straight.
Priorities Empower
Priorities empower us to know what decisions to make
Priorities drive us to keep moving forward
Priorities compel us to "figure things out" when the going gets tough
Priorities help us feel aligned in our mind, body, and heart
Once we have our mindset straight, we have to determine a plan. - Debra -
Priorities Help Us Determine Important Things
Priorities help us determine a plan that aligns with what we feel empowered to do
Priorities inspire us to decide to choose an "I will do it come what may" attitude
Priorities cause us to think before we act
Individuals who set strong priorities must also know that there will be a "come what may" day in their future where they will have to stick to their priorities against all odds. - Debra -
Priorities Lead To Resilience
Priorities lead to resilience to break through barriers we meet along our way
Priorities lead to resilience to endure roadblocks
Priorities lead to resilience to remain immovable on our path
If we hold to our priorities, we will receive a valuable gift.
WISDOM is the valuable gift we receive.
When we get our priorities straight, we gain more resilience, empowerment, and determination in our decision-making. In this process we will also begin to acquire greater WISDOM leading us to even more significant paths in our lives. -Debra -
