Habits Save You

Every day things happen that cause us to walk on shaky ground when it comes to following through on the little things; these are the things that we know we should do each day that lead us to where we want to be in the future.

I have a few things that I do for myself that are very important to me. I have deliberately developed some habits to ensure that I follow those standards I have set for myself. You might even call them rules.

Practicing important habits helps me maintain a lasting positive mindset even when I feel lazy, frustrated, or stressed. I know from experience that letting myself go because I don't have time or having a bad day never ends well.

Usually, when I follow through on essential habits, I can work my way through most temporary frustrations, and by the end of the day, I have restored my well-being by treating myself with respect.

Here are a few of my little habits:

  • Wash my face every night before I go to bed

  • Put my Invisalign retainers in at least every other night

  • Make my bed

  • Make sure my house looks presentable before I leave for work

These habits are founded upon critical beliefs I have for myself.

  • I feel bad about myself when my face is broken out

  • I don't want to waste all of the money I spent on having straight teeth

  • I don't want to start my time off from work having to make my bed

  • I get discouraged when my house is a mess and embarrassed if someone drops by unexpectedly

I can plan to avoid low self-esteem, keep from wasting money on an investment, bypass overwhelm, move past discouragement, and prevent embarrassment by creating simple habits.

Habits help a R.E.D. woman by increasing resilience, inspiring empowerment, and strengthening the determination to live the life they've always dreamed of.

I write to teach, inspire, and motivate others to help themselves. I am a lifelong educator, speaker, author, musician, and artist drawn to love those who make it difficult to be loved. I am thirsty to learn new information and compile it in synergistic ways, always with the hope that what I create will help others find greater meaning, peace, and joy in their lives. I find my greatest peace near the sunset beaches of Morro Bay and go there often in my mind to regain resilience, empowerment and determination to make a difference in the lives of others. My books provide new thought avenues for thinking and lend themselves to women who have encountered debilitating trauma. You can learn to live your life with less numbness, anxiety, and disconnection. Get my books, begin reading, and let me help to light your way.
